Kathryn is not your stereotypical bookkeeper! (She is fun for a start).   All our bookkeeping, vat and payroll needs are handled by her, plus ad-hoc requests.

Our rapidly developing international and internet based business was frankly all over the place and she has been the glue and the threads that has brought it all together for the last couple of years. We are natural crafts people, not business people. Kathryn sorts out collecting and processing all our worldwide e-commerce sales with data coming from every direction, including google, paypal, shopify, etsy and others, and sorts all the VAT and payroll (thank goodness) so we don’t have to. 

She has set us up on Xero and has explored various integration opportunities for when the time is right. She is professional, reliable and amazingly organized, and some how fits in around us, even though we are all over the place. Mostly we keep our heads down in the workshop and accounts are the last thing we want to get involved with.  Thankfully Kathryn has taken the whole load off our hands, occasionally popping up with a question, but otherwise she just gets on with it, seamlessly and smoothly in the background – utterly professional, utterly painless. 

What we really like about her is that she thinks for us, so does all the boring things like making sure deadlines are hit and things filed on time, but is also really proactive on getting tax right and keeping us informed on tax changes etc; we don’t want to pay too much, but neither do we want to look out for the tax man and she gets the balance right. 

Kathryn is not so much a hired in service as a member of the team and as a family business staffed by people who were friends first and employees after, she has fitted in perfectly. She has a combination of likeability, professionalism, knowledge, enthusiasm and dedication that we love – it feels like she is emotionally invested in our company and that feels great. Communication is very easy and with the speed at which our business has grown over the past 18 months, Kathryn has been a godsend as we just hand it all over to her when she picks it up knowing we can trust her and it is all being looked after.
